It’s been, I think more or less, four years since I created my friendster profile.  And I didn’t bother to update.  So for the anticipating public, here it comes now.  My apology, yeah.  Due to insistent public demand together with tons of mails sent to me daily – telling me, “Jacky, please update.  I beg you. Please…please…We beg you…! For heaven’s sake!”, I am forced to do so.  But of course, I am just exaggerating.

Update or (allow me to call it) change or whatever term you want to associate to this word is basically a part of life, not just a computer/internet jargon or nomenclature.  Everyday, the “Dailies” are releasing their recent edition, the newer, fresher piece of information.  From time to time, new electronic gadgets are made available to the market. And many other exemplars.  What I am trying to say is I don’t want to be left behind. I have realized that by not updating, I am denying myself of the blessing of meeting new people, new friends.  Am I right or am I correct?

One more thing before I proceed introducing my self:

If it happened by any means, chances, instances, circumstances or occasions that you had viewed or seen my profile more than once and you’re keen enough, you noticed that my profile was clean and neat. (“Wooohh…Amazing…Amazingly b-l-a-n-k!” probably the words you uttered in amusement.)  Hehehe…  Well, yes you’re right, no doubt about that.  Amen, I say to you. It was a blank profile, an empty space, with hardly any pictures and without information whatsoever.  I know what you’re thinking then – that, maybe (I know you’re giving me the benefit of a doubt), I was busy or perhaps I was just too lazy (to edit). Aaaahh…, I’m not sure, I think… both of them?  Hehehe, just kidding.  But the fact is, there is some truth in it (hectic schedule, but not quite busy) and the remaining truth is I left my profile intentionally blank and I did so in my own discretion.  Now, the point is: Why Update?  (Update, in its literal/logical meaning, may be defined as to provide with the most recent or the latest available information)  The reason being is I do want to expand my circle of influence and spread out my boundaries, horizons and territories.  My purpose or end in mind is to share. And I do believe that I have something worthy to say that is something worthy to share that is something worthy of time (It’s gonna be something. And it will be something something. Hehehe. Ok, I’m omitting hehehe before it becomes shesheshe!  Sorry for being bias.  Rats!) I apologize for my long preamble.  I’ve missed this stuff, writing (as a student journalist/writer, way back in my Golden Years of High School).  Just bear with me. I’m just reminiscing.  It’s quite nostalgic.  Really.

By now, from what I have written above and after you have read my lips or (you may say) after you have read between the lines, maybe (returning the favor this time, I am the one who’s giving you the benefit of a doubt) you now have a slight idea about me.  At least.  Have you recognized the many side comments?  Of course you do.  They drive you nuts!  But they are like (are more of) the icing on the cake.  In view of that, you may say conclusively that I am the opposite of “a man of a few words”.  Yes, you’re right again.  Because I am a man of expression.  Obviously.  Irrefutably.  Decisively.  Convincingly. Jet Li.  Tommy Lee (Jones). Hahaha! Sorry for being lunatic. Ok, back to what I am saying…, I am cheerful by heart although not evident to those people who are not really close to me.  My friends and my peers knew that (Friends, do I hear an AMEN?!).  Ask them.

Speaking with a deep sense of meaning, or figuratively in short, I’m a wolf in a sheep’s clothing* (struggling to be a real sheep, to be one of their kind). Along the way and in some point in time, I’d got lost (Well, it’s a very long story.  I’m omitting it for good or I’ll consume 20 pages for that story alone.  See my P.S.1) 

* Actually, I just read it only from one of Bo’s books, hehehe, but notice the “(struggling to be…)”in case someone will report me of plagiarism.  Sure enough, I am half kidding.  But, there is truth in that phrase relating to myself.  Sa wikang atin, birong totoo.  Continue reading where you left.

For the famous last words, it is now safe to turn off your computer.  Hehehe.  Yes, my “any last words” about myself:

            I am idealistic.  Perfectionist?  A man of a million dreams. 

            A face that launched a thousand sheep (nyahahaha), a million girls          and a billion gays. Ok, ok, many are complaining and reacting and even blaming one another for their lack of appeal and charm.  I’ll give you some of mine when we meet (swish…).

P.S.1    In the past, I used to be what I am today. What I am now.  But along the way and in some point in time, I’d got lost.  And now, I’m back.  Back on track. 

P.S.2.   This is the result of four long years of no-update.  A novel.  It’s a mere coincidence that my update timetable falls on a span of four years just like a leap year or the Olympics.  I do not will this.  But nonetheless, I think it’s a good idea.  Isn’t it?  So, am I saying 2012 is the next update?  Aahh…maybe. Only time will tell (sounds familiar, huh?).

P.S.P.  Another thing is, I have started writing this update in my word processor a couple of months ago, that is, last January but I have found difficulty adding in my schedule the actual upload.  Aside, what I have in mind is to update all at once – the content (Yes, this novel), the layout, the photos, the embedded objects (mp3s, video clips, applications, and other kind of those stuffs) and to spice it up with a blog.
